Kazoo! is taking a tnap
It is with a heavy heart that we have to share the news that our rescheduled October festival dates will not be possible. Over the past few months it has become increasingly clear that hosting an indoor multi-venue festival utilizing small venues will not be safe for the foreseeable future.
With that being said, we have some hopeful news to share. We are going to be taking a hiatus, a tnap if you will, as we plan to host the final installment of our festival as soon as it is safe to do so. We aren’t going to set a date for this last festival, maybe it’s spring or summer 2021, or maybe it’s later. As soon as it’s safe for us to gather and share music, Kazoo! will be back.
Since our 2020 festival was planned to be our last, we spent the last few months soul searching. We explored creative approaches to adapt performance spaces to reflect social distancing guidelines and investigated the idea of moving all of our events to a digital space as many festivals have chosen to do. After many conversations and reful consideration, we didn’t feel that any of these alternatives would be the right way to say goodbye to our community after 14 incredible years.
In the weeks ahead, Kazoo! Fest will enter a tnap phase. We will not be hosting any events, answering emails, or posting on social media for the foreseeable future. The crew behind Kazoo! are going to take a break while we work on other projects and wait until the time is right for us to gather again for one last hurrah.
We will be refunding all Crony Pass ticket holders (look out for an email) and offer all pass holders the first chance to buy early bird passes. Most of our 2020 performers will receive a deposit on their artist fee in the hopes that we n have them back for our final festival when the time is right. We will also be offering refunds to festival sponsors and we’d like to thank the businesses and organizations who have offered to stick with us.
We know times are tough for many folks right now. Please do your part to look out for each other, be safe, and let’s dream about the days ahead when we n come together and share our music and art.
Love, the Kazoo! crew
